When We Don’t Understand the Why
There are moments in life — long nights, unexpected losses, quiet heartbreaks — when we ask, “Lord, why?” And sometimes, the answer doesn’t come. Not right away. Sometimes not at all this side of heaven.
We walk through seasons that feel heavy, confusing, or completely silent, and in those moments, it’s easy to wonder: Is God still with me? Does He still see me? But the truth we cling to, the truth that holds us steady, is that God is always faithful — even when we don’t understand His purpose.
“My soul has been deprived of peace; I have forgotten what happiness is. So I say, ‘My endurance has perished; so has my hope from the Lord.’ … But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:17-23
Even when hope seems lost, even when peace feels like a memory, we are reminded that God’s mercy is not based on our understanding. His love is not limited by our confusion. His faithfulness doesn’t wait for us to figure everything out — it just keeps showing up, again and again, like the morning sun.
When Weakness Becomes a Testimony
You may not know why God has allowed a certain trial in your life. But that doesn’t mean He’s left you. In fact, often the most profound displays of God’s strength are revealed through our weakness.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
It’s in our breaking that we discover a deeper trust. In our waiting, we learn to cling to hope. And in our weakness, His power becomes undeniable. Our stories — even the hard ones — are being used to reveal His glory.
A New Season, A Living Reminder
As August settles in and the long days of summer begin to soften, we’re reminded that seasons shift — sometimes gently, sometimes suddenly. Whether you’re stepping out of a hard season or still walking through it, this moment — this turning point — can be sacred.
To mark this space between endings and beginnings, we created our Late Summer Candle Collection — a set of three thoughtfully crafted scents meant to remind you of God’s presence, His promises, and His peace, no matter what the season holds.
Each candle draws from Scripture and invites you to reflect on what God may be doing beneath the surface:
🌿 Morning Mercies — A fresh, uplifting and coastal scent inspired by Lamentations 3:23. A daily reminder that even when everything feels the same, His mercies are still new every single morning.
🌊 Peace in the Deep — A tropical ocean-inspired scent. This candle draws from 2 Corinthians 12:9 — because even in the deep unknown, His grace is enough, and His strength will carry you.
🌸 Grace in the Wilderness — A blend of tropical and vibrance, reflecting the quiet transformation God brings in dry, waiting seasons (see Hosea 2:14). There’s beauty growing — even if you can’t see it yet.
These candles aren’t just scents; they’re symbols — quiet companions for your quiet times. Whether you light one in a moment of prayer, rest, or just to breathe, may they remind you that God’s faithfulness meets us exactly where we are.

When We Don’t Understand, We Still Trust
We may never fully understand the “why” behind certain seasons. But we can know the “Who” — and He is trustworthy.
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame.”
— Romans 5:3-5
So if you find yourself in a season of questions, let this truth anchor your soul: God is not done. His story is still being written. And His faithfulness has never failed — not once.
From our hearts to your home,
Freely Joyful
